Bernard Kane Jr is a Cardiff-born violist and composer for film, television and the stage.

His celebrated work has been performed on the BBC (as part of centenary celebrations for Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas), at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Royal National Theatre & Queen Elizabeth Hall, & as part of the New York International Music Festival & the Welsh Proms.

A frequent creative collaborator with the Manic Street Preachers, Bernard composed string arrangements for their recent #1 album THE ULTRA VIVID LAMENT. He was responsible for an orchestral suite to celebrate the 100th birthday of author Roald Dahl, performed by the Cardiff Philharmonic & narrated by Emmy & BAFTA nominee, Michael Sheen.  He’s also performed & recorded with Quincy Jones, Natalie Cole & Ricky Martin, amongst other artists.

Bernard completed a certificate in Film Scoring at UCLA with a distinction in 2021, having previously won scholarships at Yale, The Royal College of Music & the University of British Columbia.

I do not own the copyright to these films, but the re-scored music is my own original work.
